Sydney-based artist Fiona Lowry won the $100,000 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize for her self-portrait What I Assume You Shall Assume. Lowry had never before entered the art competition, but her ghostly, red-and-orange airbrush depiction of her naked self in Belanglo State Forest, the site of the notorious "backpacker murders," proved triumphant.
