Manipulating the world through photography
Does Asger Carlsen's camera capture a hallucinatory dimension, or is he toying with us? The Danish-born, New York-based photographer has a twisted view of the world, which he shares in his new book, Wrong. Recently released by Morel, the savvy British publisher that previously put out books by Ryan McGinley, Ed Templeton, and Stella Vine, Wrong offers a surreal selection of Carlsen's seamlessly doctored images. Through the artist's digital photo manipulation, ostriches become part human, people sport stick legs, and dogs attack funky sculptures.

Surveying the end of the Pop Art master's career
If all you know about Andy Warhol's work is Campbell's soup cans and multi-colored images of Marilyn Monroe, then you should see Andy Warhol: The Last Decade, showing at the Brooklyn Museum. Highlighting the most prolific and innovative ten years of the artist's career, the exhibit consists of nearly 50 pieces, dating from 1978 until his death in 1987. It's also the first US museum survey to examine his later work.
