The video is on view at Galería Joan Prat's booth at Art Basel June 14-18. Javier Peñafiel was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1964 and lives and works in Berlin and Barcelona. His multimedia work, firmly grounded in conceptual theory, uses quiet symbolism and ambiguity. Peñafiel's work was recently exhibited in the solo show Os acasos convenientes at PLAY Gallery in Berlin. His video Confianza quería penetrar was on view with Galería Joan Prats at ARCO '05 in Madrid, and his work was included in the traveling exhibition Tiempos de vídeo 1965-2005, first shown at Fundación la Caixa in Barcelona. He has had a solo show at Galería Joan Prats, which represents his work, in Barcelona.
